Women are moving into positions of power at some of the world's biggest corporations.But for many it's still a long way to the top.
Ten years ago,when we first ranked the world's50 Most Powerful Women ,finding female leaders at Fortune Global 500 companies based outside the USwas an impossible task .There weren't any.And of the 82 women we recognized prior to to this year ,only one --Xie Qihua ,chairman of China's Shanghai Baosteel ---occupied the corner office of a non-US Global chain Daiei and Sanyo.
