In the month of August 1999,the San Fransisco company Pyra Labs ,made an international service avaible to the public.The format was basically an online diary that was named after a contractionof the term "weblog" first coined by the term hirsute anti-capitalist John Barger in 1997(The contracted name "blog"was coined by Peter Merholz after he broke up the word "weblog"to "we blog" and give birth to a full-blown verb.)
