Mrinal Sen's Khandahar rises from the ruins as a Cannes Classic
When Cannes Film Festival's General Delegate Thierry Fremaux announced 'Mrinal Sen,the Master , 'an animated audience at the Salle Bunnel theatre on Saturday night responded with a standing ovation .The film-maker ,who had turned 87 the previos day ,walked up to the stage to show his 1983 film Khandahar (Ruins),for the first time after it was restored from certain death.I never expected such a large crowd,"he began before adding humbly,"I had forgotten about my film until this evening,"
